Mark Zuckerberg shows “EMPATHY” over “DISLIKE” Button on Facebook

Mark Zuckerberg shows “EMPATHY” over “DISLIKE” Button on Facebook

Having every possible features on Facebook, even then people are requesting for DISLIKE Button. We all used to like, comment, tag, share other’s post and photos but people want dislike button to be embedded so that they can express their dislikes over certain activities. After a long wait, finally Mark Zuckerberg said something over this but fortunately or unfortunately he was not talking about the Dislike button to be embedded but Facebook is planning to come with EMPATHY button.

According to Mark, he is planning for EMPATHY Button not DISLIKE because if any tragedy happened around us and people post about it, then what would people do? Would they like or dislike ? Both options could offend. So, taking this into consideration, they support EMPATHY button rather than DISLIKE.

Here is the reply from Mark Zuckerberg over the same :

This is all Mark Zuckerberg has to say. Yes, he is right that we can’t hit Dislike button on any tragedy being shared on Facebook as it doesn’t looks good.

But, why Mark is only relating tragedy with Dislike button?

For example, my friend has updated his status which I don’t like at all and that status might include discrimination over anything. If I would like to oppose and raise against it, I would either go for Dislike button or comment. So, in that case, should I hit EMPATHY?  Obviously not, there DISLIKE button will play its role. Any which ways, people on Facebook are intelligent enough that they know how to respond over tragedy, even if EMPATHY button is not there, they would show their grief in any manner.

Its highly appreciated that Mark has taken a step forward over people’s request but in my opinion, he should have embedded both buttons ‘Empathy’ and ‘Dislike’ to avoid controversies.
