  • LOCATING OSAMA BIN LADEN

It was really appreciable how US military officials has located him. The raid was finally finished at Abbottabad with his death. Locating Bin Laden was started in 2002 and lot of investigation happened by different countries. Pakistani officials also revealed some hints to US militants.

In August 2010, a former Pakistani Intelligence officer contacted and approached US embassy Station chief in Islamabad and offered them to leak the Bin Laden’s location in return to USD 25 million. The Pakistani official informed US official that Bin Laden had been located in 2006 by Pakistani ISI. He was held under house arrest near Intelligence centres. Then polygraph tests were being passed and US began satellite surveillance of Bin Laden’s Abbottabad residence.

In September 2010, they followed a courier to the Abbottabad Urban Compound and US started deep investigation. Courier was a man known as Al-Kuwaiti through which Bin Laden was believed to communicate with his Al-Qaeda soldiers and commanders. When US had tracked him via satellite phone in 1998, he stopped using phone and then he used to communicate with this Courier. (Unfortunately, US Intelligence has caught him through courier even)

In 2010, a wiretap was conducted by US Intelligence officials and they picked up a conversation with Al-Kuwaiti. CIA operatives located Al-Kuwaiti in August 2010 and followed him to the Abbottabad compound. This was when US military officials confirmed the Bin Laden’s Voice.
