Wars are actually very deadly. Especially when two powerful countries battle for their existence and they are well equipped with army, arms and ammunitions. With the advancement of technology and mankind, we can only imagine the deadliness it is acquiring day by day.

Following are some of the deadly and costliest wars in world human history.


Mexican American war | 1846 -1848 | $ 2.4 billion Cost | over 2 million death

Commonly known as the Mexican War, was between Centralist Republic of Mexico. The combat operations by the US forces lasted for about one and half year, where American troops had occupied the Northern Mexico and Northwest Mexico, further they captured Mexico City and the war was ended, victory for the United States.

This war has forced the Country to give the territories of Alta California and Santa Fe de Nuevo México to the United States in exchange for $15 million. Reason behind this was $3.25 million of debt owed by the Mexican government to U.S. citizens. So lastly Mexico government has accepted the defeat and the loss of Texas and hence Rio Grande was declared as its national border.

American Revolution was a political war which existed because American society didn’t approve the authority of the British Parliament to tax them without any of their legal representatives in the government. At the end, alias has been made and the United States take control of all territory at the east of the Mississippi River and on the southern part of the Great Lakes, whereas the British takes control of Canada and Spain taking Florida.

The motive of war was expansion plan of the United States, where they wish to expand their horizons.

World War II also commonly known as the Second World War, was the biggest war of all times. The world leading Nations had formed two different military alias and opposes each other. Over 100 million people from over 30 countries were directly involved in this war making it more deadly. Use of two nuclear weapons makes this war more deadly.

It actually started in the year 1939 when Nazi Germany initiated war against Poland. Further it spreads to Europe, as France and Britain declared war on Germany. The United States joined late (1941), which was heavily attacked by Japan as Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. Further the United States has used Nuclear weapon over Japan and rest is History.


Vietnam War | 1965 – 1975 | $ 738 billion cost | Over 5 million death

Vietnam war is also commonly known as the Second Indochina war. This war was was fought between North Vietnam which was supported by the Soviet Union, China and other communist allies and the government of Vietnam which was supported by the United States, Philippines and other anti-communist allies.

The war was initiated from a cold war, where America refuses demand of handing any country to a communist state. North Vietnam army used Guerilla tactics to attack United States army and base camps. In 1973 American army withdrew its troops from the region and further South Vietnam has taken by communism.


Korean War | 1950 – 1953 | $ 341 billion | over 1 million deaths

Korean War held from 25 June 150 till 27 July 1953 between Korea and the United Nations. In year 1910 until World war II Korea was ruled by Japan. On August 1945 Soviet Union has declared war on Japan, where very soon Japan has to surrender. Till 1948 two separate governments has been set up in Korea  (North and South) and both tried to be the only government of the state.

This government conflict soon turned into war when North Korean forces who were backed up and supported by the Soviet Union and China—invaded South Korea. The war ended when both the government has decided to separate their lands and divide the country.


World War I | 1914 – 1918 | $ 334 billion cost | 65 Million deaths

World War I

World War I, also known as the First World War was a global war which was centered in Europe. The war started on 28th July 1914 and lasted till 11 November 1918.

All the leading nations of that time participated and have formed two different alias. At that time Europe was divided into two camps consisting of the Allied Powers of Britain, France, and others, versus the Central Powers of Germany, Bulgaria, Austria-Hungary and Turkey. America has joined the war in 1917 and the war ended just after a year.

We can only hope and pray that in near future or ever these kinds of War would not happen.
